About Me
I am a problem solver. As an engineer and healthcare consultant with over twenty years of experience, my role is to analyze the current state of low performing businesses and institutions. I then identify sustainable solutions that will ensure a prosperous future. Over the years, I have identified the importance of using engineering principles to solve long term problems in the United States including healthcare inequity.
Dr. Johnson began her career at Westinghouse Electric Corporation based in Pittsburgh, PA in 1983, as a Nuclear Engineer working on Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR). After leaving Westinghouse, Dr. Johnson held several managerial roles at corporations based in South Carolina including Michelin Tire Corporation, and Monsanto Electronic Materials Corporation. In 1993, Dr. Johnson left corporate America and returned to school to obtain her PhD in Chemical Engineering. In 1997, Dr. Johnson made history as the first African American woman to earn a PhD in any engineering discipline at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition, she received the Coull Award most outstanding PhD candidate and the Aristech Award for outstanding research.

Brief Biography
Dr. E. J. Johnson is the President and CEO of Pioneer Training & Consulting. A Black and woman owned small business that helps both for profit and non-profit institutions become more efficient by reducing waste, defects, deviations and delays. She earned her PhD, MS and BS in chemical engineering, and an MBA. In addition, she is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and has led process improvement projects that has averaged over one million dollars in annual cost savings.
